Mojtahedi, authentic aroma and taste

Prunes and Dried Plums

Dried plums are a classic Iranian pantry staple: naturally sweet, rich in fibre, vitamins and antioxidants, and easy to keep without refrigeration. Mojtahedi sources plums from Khorasan and other Iranian orchards and dries them the traditional way to preserve their flavour.

What you will find here

  • Bukhara prunes (dried plums) - the most popular variety, a sweet, chewy snack eaten on its own or with nuts.
  • Stewing plums (alu khoreshti) - small tangy plums that give Persian stews, soups and rice dishes their sweet-sour depth.
  • Birjand and Barghan plums, plum leather and dried sour cherries - regional specialities in retail and gift packaging.

Use them as a healthy snack, simmer them in stews such as khoresh-e alu, add them to rice and desserts, or steep them for a refreshing drink.
