Mojtahedi, authentic aroma and taste

Shekar Panir and Noghl

Shekar panir and noghl are the two sweets most often found beside a glass of Persian tea. Both are made from sugar in the traditional way, flavoured with saffron, rosewater or cardamom, and served at celebrations from Nowruz to weddings.

The sweets

  • Shekar panir - small, soft white sugar candies with a crumbly, melt-in-the-mouth texture, often flavoured with cardamom or saffron
  • Noghl - almonds, pistachios or slivers of nut coated in layers of rosewater sugar; traditionally scattered over guests at weddings

Mojtahedi offers both in household packs and gift boxes. Place them on the tea tray, let a piece dissolve on the tongue with a sip of tea, or add them to a gift box of Mashhad souvenirs.
