Dried Figs

Iran is one of the world's largest producers of dried figs, most famously from Estahban in Fars, where the fruit is left to ripen and dry on the tree under the sun. The result is a small, pale, intensely sweet fig with a fine crunch of seeds.

Mojtahedi offers graded dried figs in sealed packs. Eat them straight as a snack, chop them into porridge, salads or baking, or follow the Iranian custom of soaking a few figs in water overnight and eating them in the morning for their fibre and minerals.
